Over the past decade more and more employees have been able to work from home as part of their day job. This often involves involves work from home one or more days a week.
The rise in the number of employees telecommuting is the result of the rise in the use of technology and the wide spread use of the Internet. It is possible to gain access to computer systems at work and be able to complete your duties while working from home.
The only problem is that it gives you a taste of freedom but that is dashed the next day when you are back to the grind of commuting to a job. The only way to get break that bind completely is to start your own business working from home. Here are four benefits of working from home.
#1 Increased Time with Family
It is not unusual for someone to spend an hour commuting to work in the morning and spending another hour commuting home in the evening. If you are working from home, you will be able to spend not only those extra two hours a day at home with your family but you will also be home the 8 hours that you would have been at work. Employees will spend more time working at a job each week then they actually spend with their family. If you ae working from home, you will not have to miss another birthday party or baseball game because you had to work.
#2 Be Your Own Boss
Have you ever complained about your boss? If you work from home, then you will be your own boss. You will have complete control over the business and will be responsible for its success or failure. If there is something that you do not like, then you have complete control to change it. You do not have to ask anyone for permission before doing something. Likewise if something goes wrong, then you have nobody to blame but yourself.
#3 Get Paid for Your Work
When you work for an employer they set the value on the services that you provide to the company. You may have worked harder than anyone else in your department yet you may get the same raise percentage as everyone else. When you are your own boss, you are able to set the value on your work. The only difference is that you get to keep 100 % of the profits from your work. If you think your work is worth more, then you can give yourself a raise. The only way to truly get paid what your work is worth is by working from home and being your own boss.
#4 Flexible Hours
Most companies have stated business hours such as 9 AM to 5 PM. As an employee you are required to be at work during this time period. If you are working from home, you can start work at whatever time you want and work as late as you want. You can choose to work as many days of the week that you want or from where you want to work. If you want to work just Tuesday thru Thursday, you can as long as the business is running without problems. Likewise you can choose to work 14 straight days and then take a week off to spend with the family. You only need to work when there is work to be done and not be obligated to be at work during the stated hours of the business.
There are many things that we all don’t like about having a day job. Most of these items can be fixed by becoming your own boss and running your own business out of your home.
